fightED Rome Marathon

‘Never let me do one of those again’. Mark and I struggled to get these words out to our brother Chris after running a freezing cold, and wet Belfast Marathon in 2012. Yet four years later, and like a hangover, all is forgotten with Chris joining in on the 26.2 miles. We have signed up to the Rome Marathon in April 2017, along with friends Grainne, Patrick, Liam, Alisdair, and Peter.

The idea came about when Chris suggested doing the Birmingham Marathon, but after some thought (around 3 minutes), we felt Rome would be a little nicer, and give us the opportunity to see Mark who is living over there.

Once we had signed up, the choice of charity to fundraise for was pretty obvious; fightED. fightED are a charity that help sufferers of eating disorders get back on their feet. Our friend Ricky, supported fantastically by his family, has done some incredible fundraisers over the last couple of years ranging from boozy BBQs, to cycling the width of America (all 3,415 miles!). The charity receive no funding other than donations from the public which is why we want to raise as much as possible by having as many people running or supporting. 

All the runners are funding the trip themselves, so any donations will go straight to fightED and go a long way!
(big shoutut to Ricky, Kathryn, Jayne, Claire, Paul, Alison, Claudia and baby Jude who are coming out to support us - enjoy the festivies beforeand for us!)
