Fight On Cory Norton

Donation protected
As most of you know, Cory has been battling a very rare form of cancer called Epithelioid Sarcoma since 2016. Cory was diagnosed at the young age of 29. Since his diagnosis, he has been through more trials than most, he went through 8 months of rigorous chemotherapy, and 28 rounds of radiation along with multiple spine surgeries that came with a plethora of complications throughout his fight. Too many to list. By the grace of God, Cory has been in partial remission for nearly 4 years, while still fighting the metastasis in his lungs. He reached this partial remission as he was blessed enough to have a partial response to chemo, radiation,  cyber-knife(which is very uncommon with this rare form of cancer) He is maintaining his cancer currently on a medication  called Pazopanib.

Just recently Cory noticed a hard nodule on his chin, so he had it checked by his dermatologist at City Of Hope, and unfortunately, the biopsy came back as Epithelioid Sarcoma.  This news is obviously devastating and scary, but at the same time it presents Cory with a unique opportunity in which he plans to take full advantage of. Cory and Tawni found a research lab that will take the live tumor after its removed by plastic surgeons, and inject Cory's exact cancer into an immunocompromised mouse. This lab will grow Cory's cancer inside the mouse, which allows different drug compounds to be tested against Cory's specific genetic cancer. This testing could  potentially expose a weakness in Cory's cancer. This is our chance to take the fight to the cancer, finally! He has been unable to do so as he had no live tissue, {except in his lungs, but not useable)so you see the double edged blade here.....

Of course, the biggest hurdle , is the cost..... and after these 4 years  in the fight and raising a young family, he is unable to do this on his own, or just with the families help, so.....we are starting the GoFundMe on their behalf, as they are uncomfortable with asking for more help, and are so very well aware of just how blessed they have been by family, friends, co-workers and community. Without Gods mercy and grace, all of the prayers they have received over the last almost 4 years, he probably would not be here.  He is still a walking miracle, and we believe God must have a great plan for him. His prognosis at time of diagnosis was 6 months to 2 years, and here we are, and we must keep fighting for them.....God is in full control, but as parents and family, there is no stopping, there is nothing we wouldn't do for them! Tawni, Cole and Tenley need him!!  We believe deeply in our hearts that with God, determination, opportunity and fight, Cory can beat this.... but it takes a village!! Help us take this unfortunate circumstance  and turn it into the miracle that Cory so desperately needs.  We love  and thank all those who have helped and loved on our family and assisted in helping to carry him this far.  Whether you are able to donate or not,  we are grateful and only ask that you share this to further his chance of this new opportunity....... God keeps opening doors, and we do our best to follow...... we must!!!  God bless!
