This fund is set up to help the Militano family through their time of need by his Cal Fire family. Mitch Militano is a well-respected Firefighter at Auburn Headquarters Station 10 in the Nevada-Yuba-Placer Unit, and has worked for Cal Fire as a seasonal Firefighter for 8 years.
In November of 2016, the Militano family found out that their 2-year-old daughter Frankie had stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer. In the following year, she has been through 3 different treatments that included enduring 5 rounds of high dose chemo therapy and 6 rounds of immunotherapy, which causes pain and fevers of 105 degrees. This treatment failed to beat her Cancer. At this point she went to San Francisco where she received MIBG Radiation therapy that required her to sit in an isolated room for 6 days without the comfort of her family due to the high amounts of radiation they gave her. These 3 treatments are known to cure, or at least shrink cancerous tumors, but they have not had those effects on Frankie.
In October of 2017, the Militano family found out that Frankie’s doctors haven't seen any change and were told that all they can do is keep her happy and stable.
This has led the Militano family to seek treatments outside of California. They have found a hospital in New York called Memorial Sloan Kettering that offers a treatment not available in California. They have had some success with their new trail, and Frankie has been accepted for a consultation. The Militano family will be heading there after the holidays, and will be there until she is cured.
The travel and lodging expenses will not be covered by insurance and will be extremely expensive. Please band together and give all that you can for this strong, wonderful little girl.
