Tyrone is a 47 year old, doting father of Evan and Oliver, husband to Margaret. Ty has worked at UMI for 5 years. During that time he has cultivated strong relationships with his co-workers as well as his clients. Ty has a Masters in Science, Chemistry from UC Davis, and is always trying to learn more and give more. When Ty isn't hard at work for his customers, he is taking his boys camping, helping them with school projects and he is teaching Oliver and Evan about his passion for cycling.
On Monday, March 6th, Tyrone Arnold got the devastating diagnosis of Stage III Multiple Myeloma, which is a cancer of the bone marrow. Stage III is the most advanced stage of this awful disease. The average life span at this stage is 29 months.
While optimistic in terms of final outcome, Ty has a long, tough road ahead. He will be starting chemotherapy treatment next week. The funds raised will help with his medical bills, child care, loss of income and most importantly, allowing him to make special memories with his family that he otherwise would not be able to do.
Those of us who created this sight for Ty have worked with him and become his friend over the years. We want to be able to help him anyway that we can as he is our 'family'.
