Fight Covid in South Asia
Donation protected
About 25% of the world lives in South Asia (primarily India, Pakistan and Bangladesh). Today, India is the most -affected COVID country in the world.
By some estimates, about 10,000 people are dying everyday in these 3 countries.
While most of rest of the world is presently slowly recovering from the pandemic, very soon, South Asia will export COVID back to the world.
With absolute lack of funds in these developing countries, the Situation is Dire.
There is shortage of hospital beds, oxygen, money to get vaccinated and unemployment from the pandemic causing hunger and death.
Both India and Bangladesh
India has developed a COVID variant. Vaccines may not be very effective against this.
We are raising funds to provide support to the NGO's (India Red Cross, Edhi Foundation, Bangladesh Red Crescent and others) working in these 3 countries in alleviating the COVID related problems for the poor.
THE NEED IS IMMEDIATE! Remember if the South Asian COVID problem is not tackled, the world will have another deadly wave of new variants.
As of May 15th, the human misery has not lessened in India. Now about 55% of the daily new cases in the world originate in India. Although not stated officially, the death total in the country has now exceeded 1 million. That is a little less than the size of the city of Edmonton, Canada wiped out.
And now Nepal is showing a higher infection rate than India. In 3rd stage donation drive we have shifted focus from Bangladesh to Nepal. Our goal is $5,000 for Nepal.
Please help us alleviate this misery.
