Help Michelle beat this Brain Tumor

May 2016, Michelle was admitted to the hospital due to having a TIA (mini-stroke) at the time she was diagnosed with a Meningioma (brain tumor) in her left parietal lobe. Since then Michelle has been to many different Doctor’s in not only our surrounding areas but also was traveling to the Dallas area to see specialist. Michelle has had many tests ran (EEG, several MRI’s, CT’s) her hospital bills, imaging bills, Doctors bills and insurance premiums are quickly adding up along with the cost to travel to each appointment. In was in March 2017 Michelle was diagnosed with a second tumor that is showing on her MRI’s.
While Michelle is trying to manage all of her health issues, she is also trying to raise and support her 2 children and make sure their household is taken care of.
Michelle just recently traveled to Austin to Seton Medical Center Hospital of The University of Texas in hope of finding the answers that she has been desperately needing, the answers, the relief and the solution to fighting these Brain Tumors. She met with neurosurgeon Dr. Zui and it was the answer to her prayers. Dr. Zui jumped in, went over every inch of each record that Michelle has had done in the past, took the time to listen, and explained in full detail what steps need to be taken. Dr. Zui is ordering Michelle to have more tests ran (MRI, CT Angiogram, EEG). Dr. Zui is setting up a team of Doctors for Michelle’s treatment plan that will work alongside with him (Neuro- Oncologist, neurologist) At this time Michelle does need to have the surgery to remove the tumor. The MRI is showing that there is two blood vessels that could possibly be attached to the tumor but unfortunately there is no way to tell until the Doctor goes in to do surgery. If the vessels are not attached the tumor can be removed, if the vessels are attached to the tumor there is a chance that it will not be removed or only parts of it can be removed but again this will not be known until Michelle is in surgery. Michelle will be in the hospital for at least a week following her surgery, and at home recovering for a several weeks after surgery. So the travel expenses for her children and family to be by her side will be adding up as well. Michelle has used all her sick time and vacation time at her work, so taking off to have the surgery and recovery time Michelle will have no income coming in. It is going to be a long and expensive road for Michelle in the upcoming next several months.
At this point we are unsure what the total cost of her treatment is going to be due to if they are going to be able to remove the tumors or not. We are not sure if chemo and radiation will be required, but more than likely she will have to do both.
Let’s help take some of the worries, burden, and stress off of Michelle and her family so that she can concentrate on beating this brain tumors.
