Wheels for Pixie Fairy Triplets and Big Sister

We were blessed with identical girl triplets in April 2009. They have a big sister Samalie. Lairabelle, Alliandra and Evienne were born to a very surprised mom (and dad) who gave birth at 48 years old! The girls were born at 27 weeks, and all spent time in the NICU for several months, but our middle triplet, Evienne had very severe lung damage and has been hospitalized on a ventilator with a trach since birth.

She has defied all the odds and made it to rehab where she is off the ventilator for several hours a day now. It has been three long years, and our family used all our life savings and resources to be by her side. She is getting ready to come home, and join her sisters. She will have a nurse for part of the time, provided by Medicaid, and Medicaid will help us customize a van, with a lift, etc for her special needs, but will not help us get a vehicle.

We just manage to fit now with our 3 plus our au pair who helps us in a large mini-van, but it is not nearly big enough to accommodate Evienne\'s heavy equipment and special wheelchair. She has worked so hard to get to this point, and we are hoping that she will get stronger once home and eventually learn to walk, talk and eat with her sisters in time. It is vital to us to keep our family together at all times, and not leave her out because of her disability. But we need a safe vehicle that we can stand in and have easy access to her in case she has respiratory distress or has to be laid down quickly for CPR.

We are reaching out to our community, friends, relatives, and the kindness of others for your help so that we may buy a vehicle to customize for Evienne\'s special needs, and to fit our family. We also need to raise money for extra nursing care above what the state provides as Mom is also chronically ill, and needs extra help taking care of the family.

Evienne is a curious, happy toddler and she should have everything she deserves to have a chance at a good life with her sisters. She has fought to be here, and now it is our turn to fight to get her what she needs in spite of our financial challenges.
