Black Panther Challenge - FieldTrip

Donation protected

Our organization, Field Trip, is taking up the Black Panther Movie Challenge for our first LA trip. We’ve partnered with View Park Prep to bring about 80-90 kids aged 10-13 (and 10-20 adults) to The Landmark theater on March 7th.

Not only will the kids get to see the movie, we’ve lined up a great panel (Kesha Cash - Venture Capitalist/ IAF founder, Adam McKay - writer of Ant Man, Director of The Big Short, Anchorman, Step Brothers, etc. Camille Friend - Hair Stylist for Black Panther, and Franklin Leonard - Founder of The Blacklist) to lead a discussion and Q&A after the film so the kids can engage in thoughtful conversation around the film, it’s cultural significance, how a film like this gets made and how they might be able to pursue a career in film or tech.

Our initial goal is to raise $2,810. The first $750 goes towards renting 3 buses. The next $1,700 goes to the theater ($12/ticket, $500 theater rental fee). The last $360 we’ll use for a small popcorn and bottled water. We ended up rasing $4,796 dollars for the trip which really helped us out. Thank You!

03/12/2018 - UPDATE!! We did it! The trip happened and it was amazing!! Here's a Thank You Video from Brandon…

UPDATE!!
: We did it! We met our goal. Thanks for your generosity. We’re going to do a stretch goal to cover some of our admin costs associated with the trip that we were going to pay out of our pocket but with your generosity we can cover that and save for another trip.

Field Trip is a non-profit (designation pending) whose mission is to initiate and nurture a life-long love affair between kids and art, enabling the kids to experience, enjoy, create and profit from art. We focus exclusively on underserved kids who have not been provided a path to access art. Here is a picture from our first ever trip, to Chicago’s MCA Museum, for the Murakami exhibit last summer.

We'd appreciate all the help we can get!!! Big or small. This is an experience not worth missing out on!!! Please SHARE on social media using the following hashtags:
