Pam's Cancer Journey

Pam Blackketter was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins Lymphomia on September 9, 2014.  She first noticed a lump on the left side of her neck, which doctors treated her for a stone in her lymph node with antibiotics.  When this was not helping, Pam went back to the doctor where they did a biopsy of the lymph node tissue.  Almost a week of waiting for results, she got the dreadful call that in deed this lump was malignant.  She had cancer!  It was a blow to not only her and Al, but to her whole family.  She had to tell the sad news to all 5 of her children and grandchildren.  With that said, there were many unanswered questions:  What type?  What's the treatment?  Where else has the cancer spread?  You can imagine all the worrisome thoughts that cross your mind when hearing this news.  Pam then went through a weeks worth of testing, where they removed the lump or lymph node for further testing, and on September 24 tests confirmed her Lymphomia diagnosis.  The type is called Non-Hodgkin's Follicular  Lymphomia, Stage 1, Grade 3.  This is the most aggressive of it's types but caught early enough is also the most curable.  She was relieved to hear that the only evidence of cancer was in that section of her lymph nodes.
Pam is now undergoing chemo.  She is getting 3 days of treatment for approximately 16 weeks.  Thus far she has tolerated medication but has experienced much fatigue.
My hope for Pam and her family is that we can raise enough money for the family to pay a few months worth of bills so Pam can focus on getting better.  Financial stress is not something I want her to worry about.
