Fibromyalgia Surgery (Cirurgia Fibro)
Oi gente,
como sabem , tenho Fibromialgia. Fui diagnosticada com nível severo e estou sem músculos abdominais funcionais, ou seja, sem suporte para a coluna e assim, em dor constante e severa. A fibro afetou todos meus membros, e agora, preciso de uma cirurgia para consertar meus
músculos abdominais.
o seguro não cobre e é uma cirurgia caríssima. Não faria o gofundme se tivesse condições de pagar.
Sou nova mas levo uma vida difícil, com dores moderadas à severas. Sem o funcionamento
correto abdominal, estou piorando à cada dia.
Peço ajuda de vocês, pois a fibro tirou todos osmeus sonhos de mim e agora, preciso
sobreviver com uma vida quase normal e sem ter que tomar opioids ou relaxantes
musculares todos os dias, e passar a maior parte do meu tempo na cama.

Hi everyone,
As some of you know, and many of you do not, I have fibromyalgia. I was diagnosed 8 years ago (2012) but the pain was manageable and I was able to
live my life fairly normally, having flare-ups once a month or so. For those that do not know, fibromyalgia is rated on a scale of 0 - 3, bi-weekly. Prior
to 2017, my ratings were always 0 or 1. (Reference: https://www.webmd.com/fibromyalgia/qa/what-is-the-symptom-severity-ss-scale-for-fibromyalgia)
The SS scale ranges from 0 to 3:
0 -- No problems
1 -- Mild: It comes and goes.
2 -- Moderate: You usually have or feel it.
3 -- Severe: It seriously affects your daily life.
Since mid-2017, my pain levels have consistently been at a level 3. I am, sadly, spending the large majority of my days stuck in bed due to the extreme amounts of pain and fatigue. When I do "simple" tasks, like change my son's diaper, or wash a dish (singular), my muscles all lock up and even just the
thought of breathing hurts (slight sarcasm :) ). Every day, just to keep the pain to a level that I don't take a knife and stab my muscles, I take heavy pain killers and muscle relaxants, two things that I want to be free from. I want a regular Tylenol or ibuprofen to work again when I have muscle soreness, not opiates that barely take the edge off.
The reason I have create this GoFundMe is that I was recently made aware of an experimental treatment that could significantly improve my quality
of life and reduce my pain levels to something that I can deal with and still live life. An experimental treatment that will let me hold my child, play with him, be a bigger part of his life.
The surgery is one that will rebuild my "core" muscles, specifically my abdominal and thoracic muscle structure. Currently, I have no functional
abdominal or thoracic muscles, meaning barely any support for my spine and entire upper body, as it is all being supported by my back muscles. This
causes my back muscles to lock up, have knots that do not go away with massage, heat, ice or any other treatment except time (lots, and lots of time). Per my doctor, the tightness of all of my muscles because of the fibro is causing my knee joints to, basically, calcify together. This is not the way that I want to live, this is not a way that ANYONE should have to live. I'm barely in my 30's and I've been battling this since I was in my early 20's, so I am asking for your help, because this disease has taken all of my dreams and now I'm left to survive taking opioids and muscle relaxants daily and watching my son grow up from bed. This is not the way I want to live.
This surgery is expensive and is, unfortunately but not unsurprisingly, not covered by health insurance. If we could afford it, we would not be asking
for anyone's donations or support, but life is expensive and healthcare is more so.
