Fighting For Amelia

On August 5, 2018 after attempting to do everything in their home town of Hibbing, Minnesota, 12 year old Amelia was air lifted to the St. Mary's Hospital (Mayo) in Rochester, Minnesota. Amelia suffered from the effects of a rare genetic disorder called SCN2A. This disorder caused Amelia to battle relentless seizures through out her life.
Amelia had a love for Star Wars, unicorns, her family and was a crazy strong fighter! Did you know Amelia was also a pioneer in the medical field as well? She helped get medical cannabis approved for kids who suffered from seizures in the state of Minnesota. Amelia also helped get an orphan drug approved for kids with SCN1A and SCN2A called Stiripentol.
Having a child with medical needs is incredibly expensive. However, it was particularly expensive for Amelia's family as her primary care clinic and hospital were five hours away from their home. The Weaver's have encountered numerous bills for hotels, food, gas, lost wages, medical expenses and more. Now, they face additional costs to cover Amelia's service as they honor what a strong warrior she was.
Funds are needed to help the Weaver family right away. Any dollar amount large or small will go towards the expenses related to Amelia, her care and her memorial service.
