I am asking for your assistance on behalf of my Dad, Doug Bearden. He is currently in the hospital recovering from multiple life threatening injuries.
He and his girlfriend were forced to jump from their third story apartment balcony to escape a fire. The jump saved their lives, but they are now battling the resulting injuries. My Dad's injuries include a broken femur, cracked pelvis, multiple cracked vertebrae, fractured ribs, a broken sternum, and multiple breaks in his arm and elbow. He is in the ICU awaiting his second surgery.
At this point we are all thankful to have him with us, but we are starting to look forward to the long road to recovery ahead. He will be in a wheelchair for 6 months and is looking at a solid year of recovery time in which he will likely be unable to work. As an active man, this is going to be very difficult for him.
He lost everything in the fire, and he is not the kind of man to ask for help, which is why I am asking for him.
Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated. Your assistance will go to his medical care and helping him replace some of the things he lost. Thank you for your support and positive thoughts.
