Joey the siamese cat dental surgery

Donation protected
Hi! Thanks for taking time to look at my cause. This is my 2 year old rescued Siamese boy Joey. I have had him for exactly a year. Around 6 months after I got him, he started having mouth issues including severe inflammation, bleeding, and pain every time he eats. Every single time after a meal he cries, gags, and paws his face.

After many vet visits, tests, oral antibiotics, prescription mouth rinse, steroid shots, and crazy herbal or new treatments I've tried, he has come to the last option of treatment, extractions of all his posterior teeth. Why would he need extractions of perfectly fine teeth? Joey suffers from an autoimmune dental disease called Lymphoplasmocytostomatitis or LPS, in which he is allergic to his own plaque. Not only is it so painful for him to eat, but he often suffers from drooling tinged with blood.

At this point he can only eat soft food in which I have to coax him. Last week 10/2/14 I had a consult with the veterinary dental specialist in Indianapolis and he said that I have been doing very well with keeping his weight stable and also keeping him hydrated as it hurts for him to lap up water. The Dr. then told me that I have came to the last bump in the road (surgery), and that he should heal, return to his playful self, and be able to eat dry food after surgery. The kicker is that this is very expensive surgery resulting in $2,000 plus.

I am planning on setting aside my own money month to month but after much Facebook support from a rescue cat group I am a member of I have decided I could try to see how his fund is perceived on go fund me. I make good money but being a recent college graduate living on my own with many bills, it will take me awhile to save $2000. If you want to donate but not necessarily on this, the vet can accept payments. It is Circle City Vetrinary Specialists in Indianpolis, my name is Michelle Milner and Joey is on record there. Anything anyone wants to contribute would mean so much to me.

I'm a huge cat lover and I also have Joey's Siamese wife and son who live with me. Some people would put the cat down in this case but Joey is worth so much to me, he knows when I'm sad and need a cuddle, he greets me everytime I come home, he sleeps by my side or on my head all night, and is just such a well behaved loveable guy. He is only 2 years old and I believe he has much more to give and time to live. Please consider donating to his cause, I would be forever grateful and plan on definitely paying it forward in the future.

Thanks, Michelle
