Bling for Swings. Handicapable Play

My name is Jennifer Rechani. I am a 5th grader at Fienberg Fisher K -8 Center. I am working on a school project called Bling for Swings. I started this project last school year for many reasons. Currently my school’s playground is old and rusty, and it is so old that it became unsafe, where they had to close it down. The last time I played in it was 5 years ago.
But even when we had a playground, it was not accessible for children in wheelchairs or other kids with special needs. After looking at the old, rusty, and closed down playground, I made a decision to get a new playground built for my school.
This year, I volunteered to be part of my school’s committee called EESAC. When they asked for student’s concerns, I told them that the kids need a playground. I was told that the school could not afford it because it is a LOT of money. That’s when I decided to raise money for a new playground and make it accessible for ALL students with special needs so every one can enjoy. About 18% of the students at Fienberg have special needs. Some of these children are in wheelchairs and some have developmental disabilities such as autism and intellectual disabilities. And I know that they would love to have a playground that can access.
We are trying to raise $100 thousand dollars for this project. So I asked my father to set up a Go Fund Me account for the PTA.
We need your help to rebuild our playground and make it accessible for ALL children.
Please help with whatever you can.
