Lynden Vance Erickson, known as "Lynn" to family and friends, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 1, 2014. He was 41.

Lynn was born April 11, 1973, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Victor Otto Erickson and Betty Jean Schley Erickson. He grew up in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School. He also attended Ricks College where he received his Associate’s Degree.

On October 24, 1997, he married Sarah in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born three daughters, Hannah, Hallee, and Harper. Lynn and Sarah made their home in Idaho Falls. Lynn worked for Bingham Memorial Hospital in Blackfoot.

Lynn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings. He served an honorable mission to the Dominican Republic where he loved the people he served with and taught. Lynn had abundant artistic abilities. Lynn's love for music was discovered at a young age, when as a toddler, he would stand by the piano and dance to music played by his mother. As a teenager and adult, Lynn was a gifted musician who loved to sing and who played the piano by ear. He composed several original pieces of piano music, many of which he published on YouTube for family, friends and others to enjoy. Lynn was talented at drawing. He drew many things and created a unique and beautiful drawing of the Savior which he gave to his mother.

Lynn grew up with a love of the outdoors. He enjoyed backpacking, hiking, hunting and fishing, as a youth with his dad and brothers and then later as an adult with his girls. He especially loved backpacking to the Buck Lakes near Lemhi, Idaho. Lynn looked forward to and loved the regular family gatherings that happened, one of which was his hosting a family barbecue on the 4th of July. Lynn's laugh was booming and infectious. He enjoyed sitting with his brothers retelling funny and embarrassing stories from their childhood and laughing about the things each of them had experienced.

Nothing written here can fully describe Lynn's heart and the love he had for others. His love is evidenced by his unwavering generosity to those around him even when they were strangers. He is a beloved father, husband, son, and brother and will be missed.
