Our vision at YAHWEH Our Redeemer Sabbath Synagogue (YORSS) is not only to preach the word of Adonai to all nations but to be and raise entities who are dedicated to practically living that word and being a positive influence where ever they inhabit, as the success of a nation is determined by the caliber of its entities. Consequently, the enthusiasm to accomplish this vision has birthed the need to establish a Hebrew School in Nigeria.
YORSS is a registered religious organization, (with its headquarters in Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria) fully dedicated to the way of worship which has been laid down by Adonai, the creator of the Universe. Through the establishment of a Hebrew system of education, from the nursery, we would inculcate incomparable teachings of skills, values, good habits and acquisition of knowledge into the younger ones and as they are trained in the way they should go, we are certain that they will not depart from it as we also intend to extend this system up to the tertiary level of education in the nearest future.
There will be numerous advantages of this educational system which will majorly include the conception of an academic calendar, one which will grant every student and staff the liberty to properly observe the appointed times of Adonai, such as the Sabbaths, The New moons (Rosh Chodesh), the Feasts of Passover (Pesach) and Unleavened Bread, Shavuot, Trumpets (Yom Teruah), Atonement (Yom Kippur), Tabernacles as well as other Biblical festivals (Purim etc.). They wouldn’t routinely be able to observe these Holy days due to the current academic calendars synonymous in various schools and tertiary institutions across the country, all of which clash with the appointed times and seasons of Adonai.
The Hebrew school will further instill the way of living outlined by the Torah in its students, including dietary observations (Kosher), learning the Hebrew language and a lot more. This school project is of great importance to us as we are eager to nurture and train Hebrew children not just in secular/ general studies but also in Hebrew studies so as to sustain in them the true knowledge and values of the Torah which will transform them into responsible intellectuals who will be well versed in all ramifications
We are passionate and eager to make this vision a reality, as it is a project which will not only benefit our children, provide numerous job opportunities but will also benefit thousands of faithful Hebrews who have long awaited such an immense platform to emerge and live according to their beliefs. It will also be a strong source of evangelism through which we believe that Adonai will gather His people back unto Himself, Ezekiel (Yechezk’el) 36:24-27. Therefore, as we endeavor as a team to raise funds and bring this project to fruition, we humbly solicit for your support and contributions for the first phase of this project, no matter how small, which will go towards:
1) Acquiring land in a suitable location (the location has already been found)
2) Purchasing startup building materials to begin the erection of the Hebrew School
There is no better time to instill the fear of Adonai, obedience and greatness in an individual except at a young age. Your contributions will go a long way. As you give, you will experience great miracles of Adonai in your life. Furthermore, we encourage volunteer donors who would like to be at the commissioning of the school project when all is set to indicate interest as it would be an honor to have you present whilst we kick start this great mission. This is certainly a journey of a thousand miles but even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and we are willing to take that step, so, would you rather let your few cents work for God?
