Team Heather

Anyone who knows Heather Polanco knows that she is the sweetest and most giving person you’ll ever meet,  not to mention the most talented hairstylist.  Without warning, Heather and Rich’s life changed drastically on November 5, 2019 when Heather went to the hospital because of severe headaches.  After a CT scan was performed she was airlifted to Phoenix, AZ where she underwent many tests and her symptoms continued.  It was determined that Heather had bleeding on her brain and had suffered a stroke. Even after this happening over a month and a half ago, Heather is still in need of 24/7 care and support.   She continues to have swelling on her brain, unbearable headaches,  dizziness, short term memory loss, left side weakness, is undergoing physical therapy, and even Has seizures (with her last one being last weekend).  These debilitating symptoms have left Heather needing full supervision and assistance as she uses a walker and wheelchair to maneuver around her home and has been spending a lot of time in bed with her eyes covered as she tries to make a recovery.  Even with all of these challenges,  Heather remains upbeat and optimistic.  The doctors are hopeful that her brain can heal and the swelling and bleeding can subside in the next 3-6 months.  Her husband, Rich, has been by her side every day at the hospital and is continuing to be her sole caretaker at their home in Show Low, AZ. Both Rich and Heather have been out of work since Heather first got flown to Phoenix.  They have some very costly bills heading their way as they have deductibles to meet,  an emergency helicopter ride, many tests done, and many nights of staying in the hospital to pay for.
