<div>Provavelmente já conheces as Montras. Durante um mês, a aldeia de São Luís transforma-se numa galeria de arte ao ar livre, onde montras de lojas, casas e outros espaços do quotidiano se tornam locais de exposição para artistas de diferentes áreas.

<div>Em 2026, a abertura das Montras terá lugar nos dias <strong>1 e 2 de agosto</strong>, com uma cerimónia de inauguração e um fim de semana repleto de espetáculos, música, artes visuais, oficinas e atividades para toda a comunidade e visitantes. A exposição permanecerá aberta até <strong>29 de agosto</strong>, sob forma de convite a descobrir a aldeia através da arte.

<div>Ao longo dos anos, as Montras tornaram-se muito mais do que um festival de arte. São um espaço de encontro entre artistas, habitantes, associações, comerciantes e visitantes; uma oportunidade para redescobrir a aldeia através da criatividade, dar vida ao espaço público e criar momentos de partilha que dificilmente aconteceriam de outra forma.

<div><strong>As Montras são um festival comunitário e independente.</strong> Não contamos com financiamento público e toda a organização é assegurada por uma pequena equipa de voluntários, em colaboração com artistas, associações, comerciantes e habitantes da aldeia.

<div><strong>Embora todos os envolvidos contribuam de forma voluntária, existem despesas </strong>inevitáveis para garantir que o festival acontece com qualidade: comunicação, impressão de materiais, alimentação para os voluntários durante os dias de montagem e inauguração, aluguer de equipamento, materiais de produção e muitas outras pequenas necessidades que surgem ao longo do processo.

<div>Além disso, este ano enfrentamos um desafio inesperado. Em 2023, investimos significativamente em materiais elétricos e eletrónicos para o festival, incluindo iluminação para as montras, iluminação exterior, extensões e outros equipamentos essenciais. Todo este material encontrava-se armazenado num contentor que foi severamente afetado pelas cheias provocadas pela subida do Rio Mira este ano. Como poderá ser visto nas fotografias que acompanham esta campanha, parte do equipamento sofreu danos consideráveis, que estimamos entre <strong>300 e 400 euros</strong>.

<div>As Montras são construídas todos os anos com muito trabalho voluntário e uma gestão cuidadosa dos recursos disponíveis. Graças ao esforço coletivo da edição anterior, conseguimos guardar cerca de <strong>900 euros</strong>, que serão reinvestidos diretamente no festival deste ano. Prevemos ainda angariar aproximadamente <strong>500 euros</strong> através das contribuições dos vendedores de comida e artesanato presentes durante o fim de semana de abertura.

<div>No entanto, entre os custos de produção e a necessidade de substituir parte do equipamento danificado pelas cheias deste ano, continuamos a precisar do apoio da comunidade. É por isso que lançamos esta campanha, com um objetivo de <strong>2.000 euros</strong>.

<div>Com base na experiência da edição de 2025, estimamos um custo mínimo de produção de cerca de <strong>3.000 euros</strong>, valor que inclui comunicação, alimentação para voluntários, produção técnica, materiais de montagem e outras despesas indispensáveis para que o festival aconteça.

<div>You probably already know how Montras works. For one month, the village of São Luís is transformed into an open-air art gallery, where shop windows, houses and everyday spaces become exhibition venues for artists.
</div>

<div>In 2026, the festival opening will take place on August 1st and 2nd, with an inauguration ceremony and a weekend full of performances, music, visual arts, workshops and activities for both locals and visitors. The exhibition will remain open until August 29th, inviting everyone to experience the village through art.

<div>Over the years, Montras has become much more than an art festival. It is a meeting point for artists, residents, local associations, businesses and visitors; an opportunity to rediscover the village through creativity, activate public spaces and create meaningful encounters that might not otherwise happen.
</div>

<div>Montras is a community-driven and independent festival. We receive no public funding, and the entire event is organised by a small team of volunteers working together with artists, local businesses, associations and residents.
</div>

<div>Although everyone involved contributes their time voluntarily, there are still essential costs to cover: communication materials, printing, food for volunteers during the installation and opening days, technical equipment, production materials and many other small expenses that arise along the way.
</div>

<div>This year we are also facing an unexpected setback. In 2023, we made a significant investment in electrical and lighting equipment for the festival, including window lighting, outdoor lighting, extension cables and other technical materials. Unfortunately, the storage container where this equipment was kept was severely affected by the floods caused by the rising Mira River earlier this year. As shown in the photos attached to this campaign, part of the equipment was damaged, with estimated losses of €300–400.

<div>Montras is built every year through volunteer work, community collaboration and careful management of available resources. Thanks to the collective effort behind the previous edition, we were able to set aside approximately €900, which will be fully reinvested into the 2026 festival. We also expect to raise around €500 through contributions from food and craft vendors during the opening weekend.

<div>However, between the regular production costs and the need to replace equipment damaged by this year's floods, we still need the support of our community. That is why we are launching this crowdfunding campaign with a goal of €2,000.
</div>

<div>Based on the experience of the 2025 edition, we estimate a minimum production cost of around €3,000, covering communication, volunteer support, technical production, installation materials and other essential expenses required to make the festival happen.
