service trip to Haiti

My name is Robert Nash, and I am finishing my sophomore year at Hingham High School.  This summer, I am taking a volunteer trip to Haiti with Resurrection Parish to help serve the poor, especially the elderly and youth.  In the attached photo, Peterson is a young boy who lives in the orphanage where I will be serving while in Haiti.  I will also be helping with the construction of a medical center, which is due to open one year from now.  My letter below explains our mission:



Dear Family and Friends,

As you may have heard, this August,  I am traveling to Haiti along with twenty other teens. During the week we will be working hard to make an impact on the lives of people in need. We are all called to care for God’s people in whatever way we can—whether it is actual on-site physical labor, financial support, or prayer. Our goal is to raise enough money to keep this Mission thriving and to make a difference in the lives of those who can often be forgotten. 
 
Please know that I’m fully aware that you probably get approached by dozens of worthwhile charities every year. And I readily acknowledge that your other charitable efforts may not allow you to participate this year. If so, then your thoughts and prayers for our group’s safety and for the success of this Mission Trip are tremendously appreciated.
