<div>I am pulsing with anxiety.  The doctors at Marin General keep repeating for me to expect him not to walk for at least one year.  He was the breadwinner for us while I was pregnant and adjusting to being a new mom.  While I'm grateful he is alive, we need and will need all kinds of help.  Anything is better than nothing, I am asking for help from everyone I can and if you can spare even $5 it will be appreciated.

<div>After the accident,  the doctors told me that Fernando would not walk for at least one year, would be in the hospital for MONTHS and he would need multiple surgeries. They also said he would not walk for at least one year and as he has a physical job, I can't depend on his income to keep our 4-month-old daughter and myself fed and housed. 
</div>

<div>He has brain damage, but it's not possible to tell exactly how well or how fast that will heal.  It's possible he could heal faster and be back to or close to the Fernando that I know and love, but it's also possible it could take a couple of years. Only time will tell.

<div>Two months after the accident, Fernando shows clear signs of improvement daily.  I am extremely optimistic he will be back to the version prior to the accident MUCH sooner than what the doctors told me to expect.  Maybe even better, with all the rest/rehab/therapy :)  Shoot for the stars right!?

<div>That being said, the bills are piling up.  What Fernando needs is very expensive, and with a 4-month baby at home who also needs a lot of attention, while also having to go to the hospital daily to manage Fernando's care, it's a challenge to work until things become more stable.

<div>Even after he is out of the hospital and rehab, the journey to complete recovery will be very long and require me to be his and our daughter's caretaker. If you can find it in your heart to help us financially while I navigate this terrifying "new normal", I will be forever grateful.
