Hi Everyone,
My name is Cherrise. I’m creating this Gofundme page as a way to possibly open a door for miracles to happen. As some of you may or may not know, my husband, Jesus Castanos, was diagnosed with cancer just a couple of months ago. This has led to him having to be on medical leave from his job helping others as a nurse. Since then, I’ve been taking care of all our daily expenses and his medical expenses, with a little help from his parents and his brother. I currently work long hours including working overtime and sometimes weekends and it just doesn’t seem to be enough to cover all of our needs. We are in debt to other outstanding bills that still need to be paid and my fear is that once Jesus is finished with his cancer journey - our lives would still be on hold by all this debt.
To top it all off, my car recently broke down and whatever savings we did have all went into purchasing another car: so that Jesus would still have transportation to all his chemotherapy sessions and doctor appointments and so that I would have a way to go to and from work every day. At the same time, there has been more concern with my mother’s health and she depends on me for help as well. One of the treatments she needs isn’t covered by Medi-Cal and needs to be paid out of pocket in order to get her the care that she needs.
Within these past couple of months, we have already sacrificed and lost a lot. Jesus was aspiring to serve in the US Airforce but as the military has strict rules on your health before enlisting, Jesus can no longer join. Also, our living situation isn’t the most healthy and ideal for a newly married couple but it is all I could afford in at the moment. In my human nature, I often feel discouraged and frustrated because I feel like no matter how much I work and I try, I don’t feel like my efforts are ever good enough. I just cling on to God and his promises and I thank Him for what He has already blessed us with.
