Fentie's Fund

My brother, Fentie, has ran into some problems in Ethiopia. When he finished university he was assigned to work in a government school in a city very far away from his family. His family asked him to request a school in their region, which he did. They asked him to do this because he was placed in a univeristy on the other side of the country and his family had barely seen him in the last 4 years. The government then assigned him to Liben, the school I worked in for two years. He is now pursuing a masters degree and has finished one year of the program. 
Unfortunately he has recently learned that there is a new law requiring him to pay for his education because he did not accept the original city placement. They are asking for 35,000 Ethiopian Birr. 
** For refernce, In Ethiopia, the government will pay for your education if you agree to work in a government school for a determined amount of time after you graduate. Fentie DID teach in a government school for three years. He was placed in Liben, which is in his families region (although still over 3 hours away)***
Fentie was my best friend in Ethiopia. He helped me with clubs, lesson plans, and was my Amharic tutor. He helped me when people were harassing me, consoled me when I was homesick, and was my champion unfalteringly. He helped me with any issue at any time. He never asked for anything in return, in fact whenever we went out he insisted to pay for my coffee and food no matter how much I protested.
35,000 ETB is very much like if I was suddenly asked to pay 35,000 dollars. I was paid 3,000 ETB a month when I worked in Ethiopia, but my rent was paid for by peace corps. The average teacher gets 3,000 ETB a month and has to pay rent and support their family on that, I never knew how they did it. 
35,000 ETB , however, in American dollars is roughly $1500.00 USD. I do not have this amount of money to give to Fentie or I would absolutely send it to him no questions asked. He is my brother. 
Without this money he can not (and will never be able to) continue his masters degree. Without a masters his future is very bleak. His lifelong goals are no longer possible and he will have to settle for a life of struggles on a very low salary. 
I have set the goal for 1750.00 to cover money transfer fees to send this amount to Ethiopia. His deadline for payment is 2 weeks, but I am setting this deadline for 1 week because it will take time to send the money and for him to receive it, submit it, etc. 
If you have any extra funds and have been looking for a good cause, I urge you to assist my best friends as if it were for me. Without Fentie by my side in Ethiopia, my service would have been much more difficult and lonely.
