Femmillennial: A Dance Production

We are on our way to sharing a new dance production with audiences this July and could use your support. In the past, Kylie Thompson Dance has used crowdfunding as one of the ways we continue to produce dance works - and you, our supporters have played a key role. We thank you! Here's some more information about this project:

 

Femmillennial is a full-length work that will be presented at the Toronto Fringe Festival in July 2022. But it all started over 3 years ago, when the company first produced a 10 minute piece at the Dance: Made in Canada festival (2019). That piece was called "Oh, Yes" - and audiences loved it. And so we embarked on evolving it into a full length stand-alone work. There was more to discover. One pandemic, multiple iterations of creation processes and one title change later, here we are.

 

Femmillennial is a visceral trio weaving in an out of absurdity and calm. The dancers are at once connected at the hip and at the same time 3 separate one-woman shows. A highly physical work for 3 women, it explores themes of femininity, generational communication and women's roles in society.
