We are so excited to share with you that Chechi and Femi have decided to move forward with attempting donor egg IVF. We believe in the power of reaching for and obtaining our dreams and having a family has truly been a dream of ours throughout both of our lives. This is a time when sharing our dreams to those whom we care about and those whom we admire will make all the difference, because they too have pursued their dreams.
Many of you know the story of how Chechi and I met in Cuba one wonderful day in December of 2015. We have pretty much been inseparable ever since. Chechi came to live in the US in June of 2017 and we were married within a month. We knew we were starting a little late to try for kids but we were both determined to have a family. It was very important to both of us.
We have been seeing the same fertility doctor for the past two years and we feel blessed to have such a loving and capable doctor that takes care of our needs with grace and conscientiousness. She has over 25 years of experience, and we trust that she does what is right for us. In this time, we have attempted many IUI cycles and 1 IVF cycle. None of these attempts have been successful and the process each time can be very expensive and very physically and emotionally draining. Chechi and I thought about doing another round of IVF, but it is very cost prohibitive and because of my age, the chances of success are extremely low. Over this summer of 2019, we have reflected on our journey and our dreams and have decided that using a donor egg with our next round of IVF will greatly increase our chances of having a family. And we both would like to invite you to help us make this dream come true.
We are asking our friends and family to help us get this dream off the ground by January 2020! We are reaching out to those people that mean so much to us and that we feel comfortable asking to support us at this time. The process is estimated to be between $30,000 - $35,000, which is a very reasonable rate. We are asking to raise half of this amount, which is $17,500. Whatever you are able to give will be most appreciated and will bring us that much closer to our dream.
