Fellow Tucker Tiger Alum in Need!

Donation protected
Fellow Tucker High School Alums, one of our own is in desperate need of assistance. After reading his story on Facebook, I, and a few others from the Class of '83, felt compelled to help.  If I know anything, it's that those of us who were lucky enough to grow up inTucker, Ga, are good and caring people  and we take care of our own! What immediately came to mind upon reading Matt's story was "There but for the grace of God, go I."

If you'd like to help, I know Matt would be extremely appreciative and if you're unable to donate, please keep him in your prayers as he navigates through this difficult time. Thank you all so much!  I've included his story below in his own words:

I was involved in an automobile accident on Mother's Day which involved a hit and run and has put me out of work ever since for the most part until Dec. 1.  The officers dash cam was not operable that day , however his BodyCam caught the entire incident . The driver was estimated to have been traveling approx. 40-45 mph with no evidence of any braking attempt at all. I suffered neck and spinal trauma as well as a rule hernia in the abdominal area caused a hernia to rupture through my muscle wall. So of course I had to go to the emergency room and the final results are that I have whiplash and swelling around my spine. I have been going to physical therapy twice a week and been recommended for epidural injections to start surgery. The spinal doctor has me out of work until Dec 1, 2017, but I have been able to do some driving for LYFT and will continue to do so in order to have some type of income to at least cover expenses. This is a very humbling experience, especially since the accident was of no fault of my own.

At this point the medical bills and loss of use from work and missed time is up to about $70-80k. Due to the costs of survival and being a single parent of two teenage boys, any savings I had is now in the past.
I currently am out in Athens now stranded as I had to return the rental car I had that I was using for work and had resorted to staying at a hotel in Athens the past four days.
In the matter of four months, I have lost my home , my vehicle, and most of my dignity and self-respect.
So it is with great difficulty that I am at a point that I need to reach out and ask for help and assistance.
I am holding on for dear life as it is , and when I went down to Publix to get a sandwich , I return to find my two duffel bags of clothes and toiletries has been removed from the lobby where I was told by the management at the Sleep Inn on Atlanta Hwy that I could leave them there temporarily until I got back. Now the manager has locked them in his office. So, now leaving me with only the clothes I am wearing in lieu of 348.00.
I am I desperate need of  a loan to get through the next two to three months so in I may rent an apt and get a rental car so I can get back to working (driving) asap as well as the need to be able to get to PT and doctors appts.
It is definitely not an easy thing to ask of anyone outside of your family, but as of tonight I will be sleeping on the street or whatever I can find. I have been praying all along and can only be thankful that I have made it this far, but I don't have the energy or strength to try and live out on the street. I would be so grateful and appreciative to anyone that can help me with this situation.
 Thanks,
Matt
