R.I.P. #44 Mike Corning

Donation protected

UPDATE -  R.I.P.
IMCA Modified driver, Mike Corning #44, from Chula Vista, was in a violent barrel role accident May 11, 2019 at Cocopah Speedway.

It is with a heavy heart to say that he has succumbed to his injuries, and is at peace.  Any and all proceeds will be in support of funeral expenses.   His family is greatly appreciative, and thanks each and everyone of you for such kind words and support at this time.

Original statement -
At first, seemed he would be okay to be taken to hospital once his car was loaded.  Not the case... en route, Mike suffered a stroke, upon which his father and friend performed CPR, and called for an ambulance.  Airlifted from there to Desert Regional Medical Center,  Palm Springs, where he is currently sedated.

As of now, several broken vertebrae's in his neck, needing surgery for placement and awaiting MRI  and imaging results and review.

Mike is the kind of guy that puts his needs last to help and support fellow racers.  With the extent of the medical bills he is going to endure moving forward, and unable to work, any support given back to such a kind soul is beyond greatly appreciated.

Prayers for the family in this difficult time.

Any and all proceeds will be handled by Mike's sister, Angela Hackett to help with any costs incurred.

Thank you
