Hi there!
My name is Felix, and I am a nonbinary transmaculine person. This means that although I was assigned female at birth, I do not identify with that assigned gender.
Like many transgender people, I am undergoing hormone replacement therapy to change aspects of my physical appearance to align more with my gender identity. Although weekly intramuscular shots of testosterone are magical and life-affirming for me, I still experience significant dysphoria when it comes to my chest. This means that it causes me depression, anxiety, and feelings of disassociation. Luckily, I have been able to make the down payment (thanks to your help) and schedule top surgery for June 26th!
For the past year and a half, I have worn a chest binder as a temporary way to flatten my chest. Chest binders are very uncomfortable (sometimes painful), come with a list of potential health hazards (such as broken ribs, permanent scarring, pneumonia, etc.), cannot be worn while exercising, and can only be worn for 6-8 hours per day. Even using the best binders money can buy, I'm still not able to function in the world the way I need to.
Any amount of money you are able to give is helpful! If you aren't able to give money at this time, please let me know if there's something I can do in exchange (mow your lawn, give you a yoga lesson, pet-sit, house-sit, babysit, clean your house, etc.).

As a transgender person living in the southern region of the United States, I constantly fear for my safety. My existence will only continue to become more unsafe the more "ambiguous" my gender appears. It is simply not safe for me to have facial hair and a deep voice at the same time as having noticeable chest. While this is *not* the primary or only reason why top surgery is necessary for me, it is a compelling one.
Having top surgery is necessary for my physical and mental health, will help me feel at home in my body, will allow me to fully participate in life, and will help ensure my safety.
