Félix Tshisekedi Campaign

Born on June 13th 1963, Felix Tshisekedi a 55-year-old is the president of UDPS, the largest and oldest political party in D.R. Congo, president of (Rassemblement "Gathering") the largest coalition of opposition parties and civil society. Front runner opposition candidate for the presidency of the country in the election to come on December 23rd 2018, Felix is in most Congolese’s view the man DRC needs at such a time as this. Felix has 30 years of political experience and fight for a state of rule of the law in DRC. He was groomed in the shadow of his late illustrious father Dr Etienne Tshisekedi, the legendary opposition leader, but Felix has quickly demonstrated more flexibility to negotiate and ability to understand the world diplomacy and politics of globalization. From a simple militant in UDPS, Felix climbed all the steps over the years. He was for longtime the chief diplomate of the party, giving him the privilege to meet with many heads of states and governments in his search for durable solutions in D.R.C and the region. He led the opposition delegation to negotiations with president Kabila’s regime under Catholic Bishops leadership which gave birth to the famous deal known as (Accord de Saint Silvestre), which allowed the country to avoid a total chaos due to president Kabila refusal to step down at the end of his second and last term. Felix Tshisekedi was elected Member of the parliament in 2011 elections. He was twice proposed to be prime minister but declined due to the level of corruption in current regime, he prefers to focus on changing the whole system through fair elections. Felix has positioned himself as a candidate for his party, subsequently he is the sole candidate chosen to represent the two biggest parties of the opposition, the Union for Democracy and Social Progress (UDPS) and the Union for the Congolese Nation (UNC) in The country's presidential election 2018.
