Felicia's Fantastic Fundraiser for Josh Parker

Tax deductible
Felicia's Fantastic Fundraiser for Josh Parker was originally conceived as a roadtrip across Europe from Calais to Istanbul and back in memory of our good friend Josh Parker, who sadly passed away in October 2019 aged 21 having suffered with pulmonary hypertension for his entire life.

Josh was lucky enough to survive for a short while after he was released from hospital, and spend time with his incredibly supportive and loving family. During this time, he wrote a bucket list which included a European road trip of exciting cities and destinations - something he never managed to complete.

We had hoped to complete this trip in his memory. However, in February 2020 the world changed forever with the Covid-19 pandemic, and regrettably, the trip was cancelled three years running.

We have since scaled back our goal to instead raise £2,000 for the Pulmonary Hypertension Association to help them support other families like Josh's, as well as researching cures and rapid diagnosis techniques. We appreciate every donation that we have received so far, and look forward to seeing many of you at the final Pub Quiz at the Brewers Arms in Lewes on Saturday 19th August 2023.

We are very keen to undertake a trip for Josh in the future. Original wording below:

"We intend to travel over 4,500 miles across Europe on a round trip to Istanbul in July 2020 in 'Felicia', our gorgeous Skoda Felicia to raise money for the Pulmonary Hypertension Trust based at the Royal Brompton hospital

We challenged ourselves to use a budget of £500 for a car, make it 'rally ready' and to do what Josh never managed to do. We've already bought the car, and intend to spend the next six months giving it some TLC and prepping it for our journey which will include custom painted body panels by all of Josh's friends and family, and all of the equipment we will need for camping the entire journey.

The entire project and journey will be self-funded, so please give generously to the page as every donation will go to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, who put their money towards research that will reduce the time taken to diagnose Pulmonary Hypertension in children, research potential cures, and provide support for those who have lost a family member to this dreadful disease.

Alternatively, if there is a service that you can provide such as advertising, publicity or supplies that will help us on our journey please do not hesitate to get in contact!"
