Dear East End Friends,

The holidays are a time of joyful celebrations, yet also a time of reflection. As Christmas approaches, it’s a time to reflect with gratitude on the blessings and bounty that we’ve received. While making your holiday plans and reflecting on all you have to be grateful for, it’s also a good time to think about those who are less fortunate and consider whether you can be of assistance to those who are in need.

Citizens 4 Humanity’s annual Holiday meal program offers a way to give back locally for a very worthy cause. C4H feeds families in crisis, single mom families and senior citizens throughout the East End based on referrals from local individuals, School Districts, Churches and the Senior Center in Hampton Bays. For Thanksgiving this year, C4H and our grass roots group of over 25 volunteers led by master Chef Marco Barrila of Insatiable Eats Catering prepped, cooked and packaged over 250 complete gourmet dinners for those in need. These meals were then delivered directly to the doorsteps of over 78 households for Thanksgiving. For December, C4H has a goal to provide hundreds of prepared weekly meal bundles along with and freezer meals to be enjoyed throughout the month of December .. leading up to 200 holiday meals for Christmas. With the current economic conditions, food shortages and steep rise in grocery prices, Citizens 4 Humanity is already witnessing a large increase in requests for assistance this year.
