Did you know that about 40% of our students in the Sandy Springs cluster schools receive free/reduced lunch and WILL NOT BE FED next week because of spring break?
A coalition of parents have created a solution, but we need your help to continue to raise needed funds. Thanks to the generosity of several community restaurants and corporate sponsors we are so close to making this happen but need YOUR help!
WHO ARE WE?
Solidarity Sandy Springs is a group of Sandy Springs residents who are concerned about the welfare of our local children and families during the economic hardship caused by COVID19. Sandy Springs Middle School parents piloted the first free panty at Samad Grill on Roswell Road to serve the schools in North Sandy Springs. The Barnes Young Team joined in to create a second pantry at Under the Cork Tree in The Prado to serve the Southern Sandy Springs area. Our next step is to feed students during Spring Break.
Solidarity Sandy Springs is entirely volunteer run and we depend on donations from our neighborhood supporters. We are Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
While some families are figuring out how to work from home, many families are figuring out how to survive during these shutdowns. With our combined efforts we can make sure that our neighbors feel supported and know that their community is here to support them.
