Feeding Hungry in memory of my Mother Meenakshi
Donation protected
“Shiva Did you eat anything?” this is the first question my Mom(Amma) would ask me every time I called her. Most of the time I would think “Amma again the same question” as I wouldn’t have eaten anything due to my yoga routine. I would either lie I ate something or not yet. Mothers all they are worried about is your stomach.
On July 28th when my Amma left us forever suddenly I realized there will not be anyone in this world who would ask the question “Shiva did you eat?.”
My Mother who knows nothing other than to cook and feed whether its her children or others. Even her last day she prepared dinner for my Dad and brother by herself.
It was a sudden death that shook my family. She was relatively healthy; on that day she needed emergency care but the doctors couldn’t attend to her as the hospitals were busy handling the COVID-19 patients.
I feel the best way to honour her is to feed the hungry during these challenging times. She is turning 61 on August 8th so the goal is to raise $6,100 and donate it equally to 2 organizations.
