Feeding Families of Alabama

We provide food, personal hygiene items, laundry supplies, household items, etc. for anyone in need in our community and the surrounding communities.  We open the food pantry on the FIRST Mondays and the THIRD MONDAYS of each month, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m (except on major holidays....We have an Emergency Food Assistance program that operates 7 days a week, and we also step up in natural disasters to help feed those in need.   It  is all completely free to the community, and anyone who is hungry and struggling to survive! We do not place strict requirements on those who come in, and we don't limit them to once a month or once a year. We realize that even if you are working, sometimes it's just not enough to feed your kids! This program is 100% privately funded, we pay for everything out of our own pockets except for a few private donations that a couple of generous folks have sent in to us. We do NOT get any funding at all from the government. Unlike most other charities, we do not sell any donated items, all items donated goes directly to a family in need. (Other than items people specifically donate for fund raisors!) Therefore we do not have the funds coming in to support and to sustain the program! It takes a LOT to keep a program like this running, the overhead and maintenance of the building, coolers and freezers, utilities, insurance, vehicle costs, and maintenance, and fuel to pick up donations.  We also need paper goods, office supplies, kitchen supplies, etc.  ***Our goal is to end the hunger problem in our communities!...Yes! There are people right around you who can not afford to buy food! We don't limit our help to food only, we help with house hold items, personal hygiene items, furniture, and pet foods as well IF we have it to give!
