Feeding families for Christmas in Christy's Name.

One of the many things that we found out when we lost our Beloved Christy in January, was her fervent need to help others. As many of her coworkers, friends and family mentioned, she was always there to assist and contribute, while never stepping into the limelight for praise. This was a testament to her upbringing and her devotion to her faith and following Jesus's path.
As Christmas and her birthday (December 23rd) approach, the yearning for her presence and the need to keep her spirit alive is overwhelming. To follow in her footsteps and to continue to celebrate Her Life, I am organizing a small fundraiser in her honor.
I am asking for your assistance in collecting funds to create Christmas "baskets" for families in need. The "baskets" will be distributed in some of the poorest areas in her hometown of Guayaquil. I will be purchasing the most needed staples for these families from local neighborhood stores to also help their local economy. The families that we are helping will be of different religious denominations, backgrounds and nationalities. Toys for any small children will also be purchased and distributed.
To say that this year has been a tough one is the understatement of the millennium. And, I know that many are affected by the ongoing pandemic. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and will go a long way. All of the money raised will only go towards the food items and/or toys. I will be distributing the "baskets" throughout the month of December. I will also cover any and all additional costs.

Una de las muchas cosas que descubrimos cuando perdimos a nuestra querida Christy en enero, fue su ferviente necesidad de ayudar a los demás. Cómo mencionaron muchos de sus compañeros de trabajo, amigos y familiares, ella siempre estuvo ahí para ayudar y contribuir, sin necesidad de recibir elogios. Este fue un testimonio de su educación familiar y su devoción a su fe y al seguimiento del camino de Jesús.
A medida que se acercan la Navidad y su cumpleaños (23 de diciembre), el anhelo por su presencia y la necesidad de mantener vivo su espíritu es abrumador. Para seguir sus pasos y continuar celebrando Su Vida, estoy organizando una pequeña recaudación de fondos en su honor. Les pido su ayuda para recolectar fondos para crear "canastas" navideñas para familias necesitadas. Las "canastas" se distribuirán en algunas de las zonas más pobres de su ciudad natal de Guayaquil. Se comprará los alimentos básicos más necesarios para estas familias en las tienditas del vecindario para ayudar también a su economía local. Las familias a las que ayudamos serán de diferentes denominaciones religiosas, orígenes y nacionalidades. También se comprarán y distribuirán juguetes para niños pequeños.
Decir que este año ha sido difícil es poco para lo vivido. Y sé que muchos se ven afectados por la pandemia a la misma vez. Cualquier contribución será muy apreciada y será de gran ayuda. Todo el dinero recaudado solo se destinará a los alimentos y/o juguetes. Se distribuirán las "cestas" todo el mes de diciembre. Yo cubriré todos y cada uno de los costos adicionales.
