Feed Laborers Stranded in Mumbai During COVID-19

Food -Ek Chhoti Se Aasha was started on March 22, 2020, as a small effort to feed 150 displaced individuals at the onset of the COVID-19 lockdown in Mumbai. After 1 week, founder, Nikhat Ashraf Mohamedy, realized there were more than 50,000 daily wage workers and immigrant laborers going without food on a daily base as they are not able to return their homes outside of Mumbai. Our mission is to raise money and leverage the local community to get these individuals in need fed during this uncertain time.
Food -Ek Chhoti Se Aasha has partnered with Nisum to create a campaign to raise enough money to provide 100,000 meals. Each meal costs 33 cents or 25 Indian rupees and the amount we are asking for will cover the cost and service fees. We are working with local kitchens to provide and pack the meals and have the support of the local police force to deliver the food to areas in need.

In addition to this campaign, Nisum is providing a team of developers to build a technology platform to provide centralized order placement, allocation, and delivery management system and a portal to centralize the volunteers to Food -Ek Chhoti Se Aasha pro bono.
