Healing Trauma: a safe home for the Netzel kids

Chris and Robin Netzel started the journey of adoption with eyes wide open. They knew there would be sacrifices made to try and help the little ones they brought into their home heal. Most are unaware of the trauma children go through that lead them to Foster Care, the loss and hurt that they carry. Many adopted trauma kids go through things that are unimaginable to the rest of us. Chris and Robin took on the fight for three trauma kids to heal. They were prepared to go through sleepless nights, fits of rage, unfounded accusations, and the loss of life as they knew it. The expenses that come with kids of trauma background are overwhelming. Multiple therapy sessions per child, special doctors, medications, gas driving from here to everywhere, and lawyer fees can bring even the most budget wise couple to the brink of bankruptcy. While the Netzels were able to find a way to help their children they have found themselves at a crossroads. Let me backup a bit. Two of the Netzel kids are from a sibling group of five, two in one family, one in another, and two with the Netzels. Split up due to the trauma bond that is too hard for most siblings to break away from. After 8 years of prayers and therapy the siblings were court ordered to separate. In Colorado to have one household is costly enough, but now to have to come up with the funds for two households is an impossibility, without the help of others. This is where this page comes in; they have found a small house that one of the kiddos can live in with a grandparent that has stepped up and offered to help. This way Chris and Robin can stay together under one roof and their children can feel safe, secure, and loved with their parents.
