Kenya Medical Trip- February 2020
Donation protected
One of the main reasons we both went to medical school is because we have a strong passion for working with the medically underserved, in fact, it's how our story began. We first met at the beginning of medical school, and quickly discovered our shared love for global health and working in resource limited settings. This passion led us to pursue residency in Family Medicine, a specialty that would best prepare us to provide care to people of all ages and walks of life anywhere in the world.
As we near the end of residency, we are looking for more experience in rural and global medicine... before we head out into practice on our own! We have the opportunity to travel to Chogoria, Kenya in February 2020 to work alongside other medical residents at PCEA Chogoria Hospital.
We are raising funds to help offset the cost of this trip. Funds will go towards money for travel, lodging, food, as well as the cost of donated items/medical supplies while we are there! To be completely transparent, the costs are as follows:
Transportation/Flights: $1300 combined (we got a steal!)
Visa Fees: $50 each
Kenyan Medical License: $550 each
Lodging: $250 each
Food: $250 each
As you can imagine, two residents don't make that much, so we appreciate any assistance possible, but most of all, your love and support :) Be sure to check out our blog to follow our journey!
