Help Us Help Mexico Orphanage

Donation protected
We are the Fear family and we are so excited to be traveling to Mexico from South Carolina this Holiday season to help at an orphanage near Guaymas, Mexico! We are looking forward to helping improve their living conditions and brighten up the everyday walls and lives of these awesome children.

We will be working on projects, including painting, repairing a leaky roof, helping tile a bathroom, and repairing some plumbing issues.

We are hoping to bring lots of bright, fun, colorful paint (part of what your donation will help us to do). The children in Mexico love lots of happy color so we will be working on an exciting mural together, with them, that we hope will bring a smile to their faces, not just while we are there but for the coming year.

Something else that is one of the top important facets of helping at the orphanage is playing with the children and spending time with each of them. We would like to bring crafts, sidewalk chalk, fingernail polish, jump ropes, games, and other fun things to play and do together. In addition, we’d like to bring along a some Christmas magic by making stockings for each of them, filled with simple gifts.

The Lord has put this trip on our heart this year. Over the course of the year, we have been led and inspired to be more involved with local service efforts with soup kitchens, mobile pantries, habitat for humanity, packaging meals for Africa, Operation Christmas Child, and asking God to lead our hearts in acting on inspiration to help people we know or see in our everyday lives. Each experience has been humbling and eye opening to the suffering and resilience of the human spirit and each of these amazing people.

One day, right after leaving a soup kitchen, one of our girls said, “I’m in awe. We came to help these people and I know we did because they don’t have something as simple as food everyday. But that’s what I’m in awe of, they all kept saying thank you and so many of them were so happy and grateful to us. It made me think about how much I take for granted and how much more I wish I could do for each of those people we met who are so much more grateful than I’ve been lately.”

We feel indebted to Andreas and his always open heart and Jacobi who smiles every single week and everyone at table 8 who is always a raucous group of jovial fun! We have loved working along-side Susan, Naomi, Laura and so many other people who have been more generous than we had any idea people in the world were being and to those who have less than us and have shown us that what you have isn’t always about possession and so much more. We have felt the power of Christ’s love to help and to heal. You have changed us profoundly and brought more into our life than we thought possible at the start of this year. All of this and more is why we are so excited to go to Mexico!

Your donation will help our family with travel expenses, purchasing paint for the murals, and assist us in purchasing gifts for the children. Thank you for your support! (We would also be deeply appreciative of your prayers, as well, as we drive the thousands of miles back and forth across the country.)

Thank you x 1000 for your thoughtful and generous heart...in whatever way you are able to contribute! We are scheduled to leave on December 18th, so thank you in advance for a quick response!

Sending you prayers for the blessings you need this Christmas season and with sincerest gratitude to you. God bless you and yours this Christmas season! Love, The Fear Family
