Julie is a fighter and is one of a small percentage who actually survived this rare affliction in someone so young. She is currently in a hospital in Illinois, active and talking, but her cognitive abilities are lacking due to the trauma she suffered and the medications she is on. She is making great gains, but her future is uncertain as to her complete recovery and the timeliness of it.
It has been requested by friends that we set up this account so that donations could be accepted while she is still mentally incapacitated and unable to set this up on her own. This is going to be a long road of recovery for her with lots of future medical bills and maintenance of her other responsibilities while she is unable to directly care for herself through her hospital stay, physical rehabilitation, etc. All of her friends and family are by her side assisting in any way we can. The neurologists are telling us this recovery process could take up to 18 months or more.
Thank you for any support for Julie, no matter how small. In the end, what will make the biggest difference in her life is to know how many had her well-being and care in their thoughts. If you know Julie personally, please pay her a visit at the hospital if possible. She needs that now more than ever. Contact any family member for her specific location.
