Araceli's Kidney Transplant Surgery

On behalf of our sister-in-law, we are creating this donation fund to raise money for our sister-in-law Araceli Benitez, who is 21 years old, resides in Mexico and was recently diagnosed with double kidney failure. We have also opened a TCF bank account in case cash donations are preferred acct# 6443357319 under Rosa Benitez. The donations gathered will go towards the expenses of dialysis as well as tests needed for her diagnosis and hopefully her kidney transplant surgery.


A little about Araceli –

Araceli lives in Mexico with her dad and her older sisters. Araceli lost her mother when she was 6 years old. Since then, she has been under the care of her older married sisters and her father. Araceli’s life has been very hard not only because of the loss of her mom at a young age, but she was also hit by a car at the age 7.  She was hit and run over by a car which fractured her skull and leg.  Araceli had to have surgery and was in pain and recovery for several months. Fast forward to August 2014, Araceli started not to feel well. Her body had become swollen and she was frequently getting urinary tract infections. After visiting a doctor to determine why she was constantly  having infections, she was diagnosed with kidney failure and was sent to Toluca (a bigger city in Mexico) to get a second diagnosis. The diagnosis confirmed that indeed both her kidneys were failing and if she didn’t receive dialysis within a day or two, something worse could happen. Thankfully, her sisters were able to take her to the hospital to get dialysis treatment immediately.  She has been on treatments since then. Currently, she has dialysis every two days which has been very difficult for her due to the physical effects the procedures causes on her body. Her brothers and sisters are in the process of having tests done to determine if any of them are compatible to donate their kidney. But in the meanwhile, the doctor has ordered for Araceli to receive dialysis daily starting in November. Not only will this cause a major distress on Araceli’s body, but this will also have a major financial impact on the family as we could barely keep up with the weekly cost of her dialysis treatments. We pray that one of her siblings will be able to donate a kidney so Araceli could have a somewhat normal life without as much pain and medical interventions.


Araceli is a God believing person, with a very positive thinking spirit. There’s not a day she complains about her health because her faith is greater than her pain.  Her devotedness to God has helped her manage with the new direction her life has taken.
