Medical Mission Trip to Nicaragua

I am so excited and grateful to announce that I will be one of 11 medical students traveling to Los Cedros, Nicaragua this summer to provide medical care to the underserved. We will be flying to Managua, Nicaragua on June 19, 2018 and returning on June 28, 2018.
The FSU College of Medicine has served Los Cedros since 2008, and has been returning there to ensure consistent continuity of care three to four times per year since 2010. While there, our group of medical students, nursing students, and clinical faculty will run a medical clinic and see between 100 and 125 patients per day. These frequent visits throughout the year provide continuity of care to the people of Los Cedros and surrounding areas, as well as medications that will last until our school’s next visit. I am honored to have this amazing opportunity to use the knowledge I have learned so far to care for those in need!
This will be a wonderful learning experience and a blessing, but it is up to students to fund the trip. For this trip we are responsible for most of our own expenses. Any money donated will go toward my flight to Nicaragua, food, housing, and supplies that we will need while we are there. Any support will be greatly appreciated!

***Additionally, I am collecting supplies that we will be distributing to the people of Nicaragua when we get there! We need more of the following supplies (in order of importance): toothbrushes (including small size for kids), toothpaste, bars of soap (small hotel size is fine, or purchase larger ones for sensitive skin like Dial Basic), lotions for dry skin (especially for sensitive skin). If you are interested in providing donations, let me know! It would be greatly appreciated! :)
