The Tony Newman Family Fund

Donation protected
I have known the Newman family for fifteen years now.  Tony, Joanne and their three sweet children Ami, Michelle and Kyle. This family has become my family since marrying my husband Chris eight years ago.  Tony is my husbands uncle and one of the kindest people I know. The entire Newman family is gracious, humble and caring towards others.  Every year at Christmas Aunt Joanne gives each of us something small that she personally created out of love for our family and our Heavenly Father.  Tony and Joanne always have a big smile on their face and a grateful hug for you at every family gathering.
On Friday, September 19, 2014, Uncle Tony was driving on the Granite Falls Highway 92 when the cars ahead of him came to a sudden stop due an accident.  When Tony hit the brakes, his tire blew causing him to swerve into the oncoming traffic where a large truck broadsided him. Tony was rushed to Providence Everett Hospital where he underwent emergency surgery for a punctured aorta. Tony also had a hole in his lung, a broken right scapula and broken right clavicle.  Tony also broke all of the ribs on his right side and most of the ribs on his left side. Tony was on a ventilator until Monday, September 22nd and remained in critical care for a week.  He was released from the hospital on Sunday the 28th.
Tony has a long recovery ahead of him. His car was totalled in this accident and due to the extent of his injuries he will not be physically able to return to work for sometime.  Joanne will have to take time away from her job to care for Tony and they have months of rehab appointments ahead of them.
The medical bills from this accident continue to increase.
"God knows that some of the greatest souls who have ever lived are those who will never appear in the chronicles of history.  They are the blessed, humble souls who emulate the Savior's example and spend the days of their lives doing good."~Dieter F. Uchtdorf
This is a quote that resonates to me when I think about  Uncle Tony and Aunt Joanne.  Their family really needs some help right now and they are a family who will definataely pay it forward when they get back on their feet again.
