<div>Seven days ago, Mia was taken to the ER where she was rushed into Emergency Surgery, resulting in the removal of two large masses from her abdomen. The following day she was rushed back to the ER where she has been in the ICU, fighting for her life (something no 24 year old should have to do), as they have since found another mass.

<div>Mia is a bright light and truly one of the most genuine and selfless individuals I have ever met. She is the first person to be a friend to someone in need and will always stand up for what is right; a characteristic that has become so very rare in this world. She has worked at the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department since 2019 where she has been very passionate about giving back to her community.

<div>Mia has had a total of three surgeries and still very few answers as the medical staff continue to do everything they can to help her and her family. 
</div>

<div>Everyone that knows her knows she would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, which is why I am now turning to the same community she cares so deeply about. As it stands right now, she has a long road to recovery with few answers as to what the next steps are or what the future holds. As the medical expenses continue to grow I’d like to make it our goal to lessen some of that burden, not only for her, but her amazing and strong family as well. These funds will be used for medical expenses or anything else they feel is necessary as our girl continues to fight to get better.
