Hope for Heather

Donation protected
Heather was diagnosed with pericarditis at just 6 months old. She had to have open heart surgery that then caused her to have kidney failure. She had her first transplant at just 1.5 years old. The transplant lasted until 2009, when she was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease. She endured dialysis treatments for 6 years waiting on a donor for a kidney transplant. In June 2015 she got her new kidney.

In August of 2016 she joined our NIB family. Just a few months shy of her 3 year transplant anniversary, in March of 2018, complications arose. Her body began to reject her new kidney. With extensive steroid treatments her kidney was able to be saved. This was short lived. As of August 3rd 2018 she has been diagnosed again with End Stage Renal Disease. She has been put back on Hemo-Dialysis as she awaits a new kidney. Her treatments require her to travel an hour round trip 3 days a week to a clinic for treatments that take 3.5 hours to complete. With all of her hospital visits and dialysis treatments she is completely unable to work.

Her and her fiance were in the process of planning their wedding next fall when all of her health issues arose and had been speaking of trying to start a family.

Any donations would be greatly appreciated help cover her medical costs.

Nine Irish Brothers East will also be hosting a Dine-In to Donate on September 12th from 5 pm to 10 pm to help her cause.
