Saving Rocky

This is my mom's dog, Rocky.

My mom has spent her life working for others, using her law degree not at a lucrative law firm but at non-profits like Seattle Children's Hospital and is now working on the University of Illinois' COVID response so that students can continue to learn. Despite recent hardships like going through a divorce, moving across the country, and my grandmother's cancer diagnosis earlier this year, my mom has persevered, giving her all financially and emotionally for those she loves and to make the world a better place.

Several months ago, Rocky (who's life expectancy is another 6-8 years) was diagnosed with a rare and complicated cancer that has destroyed a large portion of his skull.

Rocky survived and has kept his loving if mischievous personality. But after surgery and an initially successful recovery, he is now likely to lose his eye due to infection and his vet bills continue to pile up for my mom, who has given her time, money, and heart for her friend.

In my opinion, it's about time the universe make some returns on the good karma that she has been cashing for years. Rocky has been her joy and sole company living alone during 2020, and while there are treatments available that will prolong his life, we have reached our limit for what we can afford.

We humbly ask that you please consider even a small donation. 2020 has been hard for all of us, and especially for my mom, who, more than anyone, could use some good news and a helping hand.
