The Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail needs your help!
Covid-19 has taxed our already limited resources but we are determined to provide the same level of education, quality exhibits and public outreach that we had before the pandemic struck. Your valuable donation will help us fund our some of our planned exhibits and events for the next year. Below is a list of what we need your help with:
-Women's Suffrage in Virginia Exhibit-Goes up August 15th
-Family Learning Day- A day for families with children to come to the museum and engage with history in different stations.
-Ghost Walk Tours- A walk through Warrenton with a ghostly guide, learning chilling stories from our town’s history.
-Scout Day-A fun filled afternoon for all scouts to come and complete scavenger hunts, collect passport stamps, and earn a special "Fauquier History Museum at the Old Jail fun patch"
A little about us: Our mission is to stimulate interest in Fauquier County history by preserving the evidence of our past, connecting it to our present and educating the community about its importance to our future. The society is responsible for preserving the history of Fauquier County, Virginia. We have members all across the nation and world, who we aide with genealogical resources. We act as a referral source for visitors seeking additional information with other historical sites throughout Virginia. Our museum gift shop sells products made by local historians and artisans. The society hosts programs that engage the public in history. We act as a host agency for the National Council on Aging's Senior Community Service Employment Program. We also participate with Fauquier County's Senior Government Internship Placement Program.
