Help Restore Drinking Water for Our Students
This October, the solar-powered water pump used at the Fatoto Senior Secondary School in The Gambia, West Africa failed. This pump was used to power the school's drinking water system and was also used for the irrigation of the school's garden and for domestic animals.
Our technicians at the school have examined the system and determined that the pump needs replacement and cost $3000.00. Please help raise this amount to replace the solar powered water system for this very impoverished area of the country.
The lack of potable and irrigation water has seriously hindered staff, and the students learning outcomes. Without drinking water, many of the parents of children are very discouraged in sending their children to school.
This problem has also puts student's lives at risk, since the nearest source of water is on the other side of a very busy highway. Anything you can contribute would be gratefully accepted by the students and teachers at the Fatoto Senior Secondary School.
