Please bring my daddy home

My husband was in the process of becoming a US citizen when ICE took him away. He has been in this country since he was a child. He has autism, ADHD, anxiety disorder, sensory processing disorder, and auditory processing disorder.

He hasn't done anything wrong and yet he was taken away a week ago while going to work. The first time they tried to take him they came to our apartment and tried to force him out of his car. They said they had papers but wouldn't show us any. They said they would arrest him but wouldn't tell us why.

They eventually left and we talked to the police and Homeland Security to find out why we were in trouble. No one could give us information. Three days later my husband went to McDonald's to get his coffee for work and ICE came behind him and dragged him away. They refused to talk to me and he didn't know where he was. Just that they took him and he was alone. I found him after several hours but when I arrived at the Nashville Homeland Security office I was treated like I was a criminal and the man at the desk accused me of trying to pull some kind of game and lying to him. All I asked was if my husband was there and why was he taken without any warrant or explanation. I tried to tell him that my husband has autism and is panicking. If The officers are not careful they will hurt him. He needs a psychologist not an interview. The man asked the officers if h"should send me on down the road" he then forced me out of the building and shut the door in my face. I hadn't done anything but ask a question and pass information concerning my husband's health. I told the man I wasn't making trouble I just need to know my husband is here and ok he needs my help. The man said oh I know your not going to make trouble and backed me out the door. ICE has since taken all our money and has left me and my disabled children alone with nothing. Our lights are about to be turned off and my car repossessed this week. Without my car I can't take the kids to their appointments or go to work. I don't make very much but I love my job working with other special needs people in our Nashville community. I also run our special needs ministry in our church every week.

Our lawyer says he is 90 % sure we can win our case and get my husband home with his papers too. But we need$1200 by Monday morning to appeal to a judge and ask them to put a hold on my husband so ICE has to release him to the courts and to allow me to enter testimony on his behalf as he is unable to cooperate with a judge or his lawyer. His mind is shutting down and he is running on fear. His lawyer has not been allowed to talk to him and he has not been able to have rational conversations with me when he has called home. It has been three days of no contact and I'm afraid he will suffer worse if I can't get him home soon.

My 8 year old keeps asking why they stole his daddy and my 12 year old has to go to counseling to help him cope with the trauma of seeing his father stolen away.

Below I have recorded their words because they wanted everyone to know what kind of a daddy their papa is. We need him home again and we need help. Even if all you can do is share this along please make sure our story doesn't go unheard.

family of four was torn apart a week ago when ICE agents dragged our father out of McDonald's while he was waiting for his coffee. My daddy has lived in the United States since he was a kid like me. He works really hard to take care of me and my brother and Momma. We were doing everything we were told to do so my daddy could be a real US citizen but ICE didn't listen and now they are sending him away.

He likes to take me fishing on his day off or go for walks by the lake. My daddy was going to take me fishing last Friday after he came home from work. He promised we would go, but my daddy left and never came home.

My daddy has autism just like me and my brother but he loves me and he is my best friend. Home used to be the place that was safe and comfortable but without my daddy I can't sleep and I worry about if he is sleeping too. He doesn't like unfamiliar strange places. I don't either but they took my daddy away and now I might have to move too. Momma says we can't afford the rent here by ourselves.

Momma works hard too. She takes care of me and my brother and she helps my daddy with his work too. But she can't leave me and my brother alone. We are homeschooled and mom works in the community with other kids with special needs.

Right now my daddy is in Louisiana in a detention center. Soon he will be sent to Mexico forever but my daddy can't take care of himself. He needs to come home with us. ICE took him because they say he had to go to court but didn't go. Momma says they can't remember ever getting any papers saying that he had to go to court. Now they say because he didn't go to court he can't stay in this country.

My daddy needs help. He is sick and disabled and does not understand what is happening. They are trying to scare him into saying things that are untrue or to sign papers he doesn't understand. The other people in detention are also making trouble for him. We have a lawyer but we are out of money and need to raise more by Monday to stop ICE from sending him to Mexico. We want to go to court so a judge can help us make ICE listen and give us back our daddy and his papers. We also need to find a place to live because we don't have any more money for bills. ICE took all our money away and we gave everything we had to the lawyer to find our daddy. Please if you can help us it would be the best birthday present ever for me and my daddy.
