ALL EXTRA PROCEEDS WILL GO TOWARDS BILLS, RENT, AND FOOD FOR HIS CHILDREN

Jayme Alejandro Mejia is a father of 8 children, husband, brother, grandfather, musician, and coach that lost his life to Covid-19 on January  11th, 2021. He tested positive for Covid on December 20th and was sent to the hospital on December 27th, 2020 after having complications breathing. On the morning of January 11th, he passed away after a heart attack. The funds that we will receive will be put towards his cremation and also to help with the bills for the children and wife at home.

Jayme was a man of life, humor, and love that never failed to put smiles on those he loved dearly. Growing up, he was raised in Clairemont, CA, and suffered many difficulties during his adolescence. He was raised without a father, that when he finally met at the age of 15, rejected to be in his life. He fell into all hardships such as drugs, homelessness, and lack of guidance. Even though he faced many complications, he completely changed his ways after seeing his firstborn daughter, Ashley Mejia. After that moment, he was devoted to making his children's' life the best life they could have. For work, he was a labor worker in construction due to lack of a high school diploma, but it never stopped him from lecturing his kids on the importance of education and chasing your dreams to the fullest.

Jayme never failed to make an impact on the community around him. Since a kid, he always had the dream of singing or becoming a basketball player. Even though he may not have accomplished those dreams, he always kept his kids enrolled in the sports programs, and even coaches sports teams to help the children in the community. As a coach, he wasn't only a typical harsh trainer, he was always there for all of the athletes on his team and tried his best to always engage happiness into their lives'. He would spend his own earnings countless times to provide matching jerseys, shorts, bags, and any other gear he felt the team needed.

Being a musician was always a dream in Jayme's life. At a young age, he would perform in countless shows at school, or sing in the streets of Clairemont on the way to any of his destinations. When he grew into adulthood, he put together a band named J.A.M. KwesT, where he showed his love for the reggae genre of music. His band never made it to the big screen, but that did not stop his consistency in bringing a tremendous performance to his audience. Jayme would also bring some, if not all, of his 8 children on stage to bring countless memories to his family.

Nonetheless, Jayme was loved and appreciated by everybody for his hard work, humor, goofiness, love for his family, and the ability to make life as much as he could. This incident is very overwhelming for his family and any help or support is greatly appreciated.

WE LOVE YOU DAD! <3
