Fate’s Fatal Foul – But with You, I’ll Win

A devastating foul from fate... but with your support, I will win this game.

My name is Dania, and I’m 18 years old. Several years ago, I was forced to leave my home in Ukraine due to the war. I lost my house, but I never lost my dream.

Basketball has always been my life. It’s not just a sport to me; it’s my freedom, air, and destiny. I’ve always believed that on the court, everything depends on me. The effort I put in is what I get out of it. My life was a game, a constant challenge. But one day, that game changed.

At first, I just tolerated the pain. It was just a sore leg, I thought—that happens in sports. The doctors reassured me: "It’s nothing serious; it will pass." But the pain didn’t go away. It got worse, and eventually, I couldn’t even stand on my leg. I was scared.

I decided to take matters into my own hands. I read online about getting scans and went to the hospital. After the tests, the doctor called me in. She looked at the results, sighed, and then told me, "Congratulations, you have cancer."

Those words didn’t register at first. It felt like time stopped. My heart sank. The ground felt like it was slipping away beneath me. They said there wasn’t much time left.

But I can’t give up like this. As my coach always said, "You may lose the game, but you never lose the fight."

I started chemotherapy. On February 6th, I completed my third round. I don’t complain—I'm grateful to Poland for the chance to treat it. But the doctors said there was only one way to survive: amputation of my leg.

How can this be? Why must my life end because of this illness?

Then, a ray of hope appeared. Doctors from Israel told me about a groundbreaking method: a 3D printer can create a new bone, and I can avoid amputation.

But there’s a catch. The price for this chance—this hope— is $35,000. To undergo pre-operative diagnostics and the procedure itself.

My family is doing everything they can, but time is running out.

And that’s why I’m reaching out to you today. I’m not asking for pity. I’m asking for your help. Help me win this battle. Help me survive.

I promise you— I will never give up. I will fight until my last breath. And with your support, I can get back to the game.

Please support me. Every contribution is a step toward life, toward hope, toward my return to the court. Together, we can win this match.
